What Shelf Life keeps about you, why, and how to have it removed. Last updated October 29, 2026.
Who runs it
Shelf Life is run by JFL Network LLC for its staff and invited guests. Questions go to Jon Rettinger at jon@jflnetwork.com.
What we get from Google
When you sign in with Google, Shelf Life gets your name, email address and profile picture. That's all. It can't see your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar or anything else in your Google account.
What you add
Shelf Life keeps what you do in it: items you add and their photos and details, what you check out, reserve, assign or give back, notes, feedback, and a history of who did what to each item. That history is the point of the app, so the team knows who has what.
If you connect Telegram for reminders, Shelf Life keeps the Telegram account it sends them to. You can disconnect it any time.
Photos
When you photograph a product to add it, the photo goes to Anthropic's Claude, an AI service, to recognize the brand, model and serial number. It's used for that and nothing else.
Where it's kept
Your information is stored with Supabase, our database, and the app runs on Vercel. Only JFL Network staff and invited guests who are signed in can see it.
If someone shares an item link, the public page shows only that item's picture and details, never who has it, where it is, or anything about you. It does show the name of whoever shared it.
What we never do
We never sell your information, show you ads, or share it with anyone outside the services above. Shelf Life doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies; the only cookies keep you signed in.
Removing your information
When you leave the team or an invite ends, your access ends with it. To have your account deleted, email jon@jflnetwork.com. Records of company gear you handled may stay in an item's history so we still know where it went.
